[YELLOW]Background: Owner surrender d/t moving and cannot take the dog. No behavior issues noted. See owner surrender notes for details. Dog was adopted from OAS as a puppy 1 year ago. Given Yellow dot on intake. Dog was nervous but allowed all handling for kenneling. Vaccines were up to date so no handling for vaccines. Summary of notes from meeting dog-dog evaluation/handling evaluation.O: Dog was standing at the front of the kennel. Ears back, tail low. Gave low tail wags when spoken to. Easy to leash. Walked with low/crouched body language through the ward stopped to sniff her kennel neighbor and gave low tail wags. Pulled moderately ahead of handler. Dropped leash in the yard. Dog paced and went to the gate. Handler crouched and called dogbx00#25;s name. Dog came to handler, ears back, furrowed brow, low tail, wagging at the tip. Soft face while petting around head. Tolerated touch all over head, neck, chest, shoulders, back, and belly. Stood still with closed soft mouth, ears back, tail tucked. Stayed near handler. Did not take treats. Followed handler walking off leash throughout yards. Walked with moderate pulling back to kennel. Dog entered kennel ahead of handler. Removed slip leash by hand while petting dog around the neck and head.Ears back, soft closed mouth, worried/soft eyes, tail tucked, held body still and allowed all handling for collaring prior to dog-dog evaluation. A: Personality is difficult to assess at this time as dog is new intake owner surrender, environmentally sensitive and overwhelmed. Appears to be affiliative and allows all necessary handling without issues. Yellow d/t environmental sensitivity. Reassess once she acclimates to the shelter routine and consider for Green if recommended by volunteers. P: Make available for adoption. Recommend adopters continue to work on basic manners (leash skills, recall, sit) using a patient, reward-based training approach. Unknown how this dog may behave around children.
