[YELLOW]Background: Brought in stray by finder on 8/15/26 along with a male dog. Finder noted dog was calm/relaxed and friendly in the car. On intake, staff noted dog was nervous but allowed all necessary handling for intake procedures. Given Yellow dot on intake. Handling notes are a summary of most recent observations from Staff handler and volunteers. B O: In kennel dog stands near the front of the kennel. Pushes nose at the gap immediately on exiting. Easy to leash. Loose, relaxed body language, neutral posture walking through the building with occasional hard pulling. Dropped leash in the yard. Urinates. Walks around sniffing. Engages with handler when called or when handler sits or crouches and invites her over with open hands. Sits when asked. Also responds to bx00#28;downbx00#29;, bx00#28;touchbx00#29;, and bx00#28;paw.bx00#29; Takes treats with soft mouth. Leans into pets all over head, neck, chest, shoulders, back, with soft face relaxed musculature. Follows tossed toys and balls but no play. Walks with moderate to hard pulling on leash back to kennel. Pauses at kennel threshold but follows treats inside. Immediately tries to exit the kennel. Handlers remove slip leash by hand without issue.Dog caught her leg in the kennel divider, leaving an abrasion on the inside of her right rear leg. Dog tolerated all handling while she was trapped. A: Affiliative. Presents as medium energy, however dog is underweight and may be more energetic once she is at a healthy weight. Very attentive to handler and shows enjoyment with pets. Walks well on leash, but can pull hard. Does not engage with toys at this time. Possibly house trained (eliminates on entering the yard). Knows several commands (sit, down, touch, paw). Has been tolerant of handling when in stressful/painful situations. Yellow for volunteer handling for difficulty rekenneling and occasional hard pulling on leash. Dog is otherwise very easy to handle. Consider for Green if recommended by volunteers.P: Make available for adoption. Adopters should continue to work on basic manners (leash skills, recall, sit) using a patient, reward-based training approach. Unknown how this dog may behave around children.
