About Lexi’s Breed:

Our best guess is that Lexi is a Shih Tzu mixed breed. Shih Tzus are affectionate, people-oriented companion dogs known for their loyal nature and charming personalities. Originally bred to be lap dogs, they thrive on human companionship and often form strong bonds with their families. They are generally friendly, adaptable, and enjoy a balance of playtime and relaxation.

The ideal home for a Shih Tzu is one where they can be included as part of the family and receive plenty of attention. They do well in apartments, condos, or larger homes, as long as their exercise and social needs are met. Shih Tzus are often a great fit for families, couples, retirees, or individuals who are home frequently and can provide the companionship they love.

What to Love about Lexi:

Lexi is searching for a forever home alongside her beloved brother, Kiba. These two share a special bond and are hoping to find a family willing to open their hearts to both of them. Lexi may be a little shy when meeting new people, and she can be somewhat skittish in unfamiliar situations. She is the kind of dog who likes to take her time getting to know you. But if you're patient, gentle, and let her move at her own pace, you'll be rewarded with one of the most loyal companions imaginable. Once Lexi trusts you, she forms a deep bond and is happiest simply being near her people!

While she was initially timid around men, Lexi has made wonderful progress and continues to grow more confident every day. She tends to be more of an observer than the center of attention, but she still enjoys playtime and isn't afraid to communicate her feelings with other dogs. As the confident leader type, Lexi has a bit of an alpha female personality, but never in an aggressive way. She's simply a great communicator who gets along wonderfully with other dogs!

Lexi is house trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has a moderate energy level that makes her a great balance of playful and relaxed. She is not crate trained and would much rather spend her time close to her family. In fact, being left alone for long periods isn't her favorite thing. Lexi can become sad when separated from her people for too long, so she would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day.

She's also met children on outings and has done well, especially when kids understand that slow introductions are best. Give Lexi a chance to sniff and get comfortable, and she'll happily accept new friends. She has not yet been tested with cats.

Lexi is looking for a family that understands that trust isn't rushed, it's earned. If you're willing to give her patience, kindness, and the security she craves, she'll reward you with unwavering devotion. Along with her best friend and brother Kiba by her side, Lexi is ready to find the loving home she's been waiting for!
