About Jinxy’s Breed: Our best guess is that Jinxy is a Shih Tzu/Poodle mixed breed. Shih Tzu-Poodle mixes, often called "Shipoos," are known for being affectionate, intelligent, and people-oriented companions. Combining the friendly, loving nature of the Shih Tzu with the intelligence of the Poodle, they often form strong bonds with their families and enjoy being involved in everyday activities. Many are adaptable dogs who can thrive in a variety of living situations, from apartments to larger homes, as long as they receive regular attention, companionship, and moderate exercise.

Their ideal home is one where they can be treated as a true member of the family. Shih Tzu-Poodle mixes typically enjoy daily walks, plenty of human interaction, and a comfortable place to relax near their favorite people. They often do well with adopters looking for a loyal companion who enjoys both quiet cuddle time and leisurely adventures around the neighborhood.

What to Love about Jinxy: At 9 years young and 25 pounds, Jinxy is the total package: handsome, well-mannered, and wonderfully easy to live with. This Shih Tzu/Poodle mix has mastered the art of being a great companion. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and so smart that he puts himself in his crate when he sees his foster mom getting ready for the gym. Jinxy is a laid-back guy who loves people, enjoys a good routine, and is happiest spending time with his humans.

Besides being your shadow, Jinxy's favorite activity is going for walks. He's great on a leash and would love a forever family that enjoys taking a few leisurely strolls each day. He doesn't need a fenced yard or an active lifestyle full of adventures and excitement. A couple of daily walks, some quality time with his people, and a comfortable couch to relax on afterward are all he really needs to be happy! While he gets along fine with other dogs, he doesn't pay much attention to them and would be perfectly content as an only pet soaking up all the attention for himself.

This friendly boy loves everyone he meets and has a calm, adaptable personality that makes him an easy companion. He would do best in a quieter home and is recommended for families with children over 10 years old. Jinxy can be possessive of toys and prefers to keep his treasures to himself, so he'll need an adopter who understands his boundaries. Because he likes to chew and may swallow pieces of fabric toys, he should only have durable, non-destructible toys.

Jinxy does have a few simple maintenance needs to keep him feeling his best. He receives medicated baths twice a week for fungal dermatitis (he is improving and should make a full recovery soon) and takes Dasuquin to support his joint health. He also has a Grade III/IV heart murmur and has moderate cataract changes bilaterally. Other than that, he's a low-maintenance, easygoing dog who is ready to settle into his forever home.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who enjoys walks, loves human attention, and is just as happy cuddling on the couch as he is exploring the neighborhood, Jinxy may be your perfect match. This sweet boy is ready to find a family of his own and spend his golden years being loved exactly as he deserves!
