Meet Dewey – Curious, Clever, and Ready to Be Your Sidekick!❤️
Dewey and his littermates are currently with our partner rescue in Mississippi and awaiting a foster or adopter to bring them to NJ to find their furever family!
Meet Dewey, a handsome chocolate tricolor boy with a curious mind and a heart full of sweetness! Dewey loves to keep an eye on whatever is happening around him. Whether you're busy with a project, relaxing at home, or going about your daily routine, he'll be nearby, happily supervising and making sure he doesn't miss a thing!
Dewey is affectionate, gentle, playful, and just a little goofy. He enjoys his toys and is eager to please, making him a wonderful candidate for learning new things. He's also food motivated, which should make training a fun and rewarding experience for both of you. This smart boy has so much potential and will thrive with a family willing to include him in their everyday adventures.
Currently weighing around 20–25 pounds, Dewey is expected to grow into a medium-to-large dog of approximately 50–60 pounds. He has a moderate energy level and will enjoy a balance of playtime, exercise, and relaxing with his people. He's friendly with adults, good with children and other dogs, and would be a lovely addition to many types of households. His compatibility with cats is unknown.
Dewey is not housetrained yet, so his new family should be prepared to work on housebreaking and continue his training with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. He may also have an occasional comment to share, as he does enjoy using his voice from time to time!
If you're looking for a sweet, intelligent companion who wants to be part of whatever life brings, Dewey is ready to watch, learn, play, and grow right alongside you. He can't wait to find a family to call his own! ❤️
Dewey is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Dewey has been neutered and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $600.
Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
