❤️ Personality & Breed Information
Maggy is a sweet 3-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix weighing approximately 26 pounds. She's a wonderful young adult with a spirited personality and plenty of love to give the family lucky enough to make her theirs.
Maggy is good with other dogs and children, while her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.
As a Jack Russell Terrier mix, Maggy may share many of the traits these dogs are known for. Jack Russells are often bright, curious, energetic, playful, confident, and devoted to their people. They may be smaller dogs, but they often have big personalities and enjoy having things to do.
Maggy would benefit from a family that can provide:
Daily walks and regular exercise
Playtime and interactive games
Mental stimulation and enrichment
Positive-reinforcement training
Consistent routines and boundaries
Plenty of companionship and affection
Continued socialization
A secure home and yard, if applicable
Terriers can be curious and determined explorers, so secure doors, gates, fencing, and careful leash handling are important for keeping Maggy safe.
At three years old, Maggy is past the demanding puppy stage while still being young enough for plenty of adventures with her future family.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Moving into a new home is a major change for any rescue dog. Maggy will need time to learn her family's routine, expectations, and household boundaries.
Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so adopters should be prepared to continue working on household manners, leash skills, basic commands, recall, and positive socialization.
Consistent positive-reinforcement training will help keep Maggy's active mind engaged while strengthening the bond she develops with her new family.
The 3-3-3 Rule
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to understand her new household routine
3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home
Every dog adjusts differently. Giving Maggy patience, consistency, structure, and affection will help her understand that she's finally home.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Maggy is spayed, vaccinated, and dewormed.
Her future family should continue providing routine veterinary wellness examinations, recommended vaccinations and boosters, flea/tick/heartworm and parasite prevention, routine dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, regular grooming and nail care, and veterinary treatment whenever needed.
Regular exercise and mental enrichment are also important for keeping an intelligent, spirited Terrier mix like Maggy happy and healthy.
