Sweet little Iris is still just a baby, yet she has already experienced the heartbreak of being left behind. She was found wandering as a stray, and sadly, no one ever came forward to claim her. Now Iris is hoping that her next chapter will be very different â one where she is loved, cherished, and never forgotten again.Despite everything she's been through, Iris has remained a sweet, affectionate, and curious young girl who simply wants someone to call her own. She enjoys being around people and is ready to discover just how wonderful life can be in a forever home.Iris has never lived with dogs before, so any introductions should be slow, patient, and properly supervised to help everyone feel comfortable. Because she's still young and learning about the world, we recommend a home with children ages 5 and up, with appropriate supervision. To help Iris thrive, her new family should provide plenty of appropriate toys, a scratching post, and a cat tree where she can climb, explore, scratch, and safely watch the world go by. Iris didn't choose to be homeless, and she shouldn't have to grow up wondering if someone will finally choose her. She is ready to leave her stray days behind and become the beloved family member she was always meant to be. Could you be the person who finally gives Iris the forever she deserves? If you are interested in adopting Iris or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, they are open M-F from 10am-4pm.Adoption fee: $75
