Meet Zelda! At just 8 months old and 22 pounds (with more growing to do), Zelda is a gorgeous Husky/Shepherd mix with striking ice-blue eyes, a playful personality, and a growing collection of squeaky-toy favorites. She loves walks, hikes, tug-of-war, cuddling with her people, and playing with her doggy friends. And yes, she takes her squeaky-toy duties very seriously!Zelda has come a long way in a short time. When she first arrived in foster care, she was so shy that she wouldn't come out of her crate for days. Now she's learning that people are safe, enjoying affection, and showing off her sweet, curious, playful side. She may still be a little timid in busy environments, but her confidence is growing every day. She's also a smart, treat-motivated puppy who is working on her basic commands and making progress with potty and crate training. She's excellent on leash, rides calmly in the car, and settles nicely after exercise and playtime. She does have a chatty Husky side, especially when crated! She's made great progress learning to settle at night, but she'll need a patient adopter who understands that puppies take time, consistency, and plenty of practice.Zelda would love an active home where she can enjoy a couple of longer walks each day, explore the outdoors, and have plenty of opportunities to play. A securely fenced yard would be a bonus. She gets along well with dogs her size or larger and would especially enjoy a canine companion to help show her the ropes, though she could also thrive as your one-and-only. Her compatibility with cats and children hasn't been fully tested, so slow, thoughtful introductions and continued training will be important.Zelda is still learning, growing, and discovering what it means to be a confident, happy dog. With patience, positive reinforcement, and lots of love, this beautiful girl is going to make an amazing companion.Ready to help Zelda write her next chapter? Her squeaky toys are packed, and she's ready to find her forever family! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
