Meet Awilda. She deserves a second chance.
Awilda is a beautiful 2 to 3 year old, 35 to 40 lb spayed girl who has fallen on hard times. Through no fault of her own, she has ended up in a crowded shelter in Puerto Rico, where her chances of finding a loving home are heartbreakingly small.
Sadly, black dogs are often overlooked in shelters. We don't know why, but we do know that Awilda deserves to be seen, to be chosen, and to be loved.
Awilda is a smart girl who knows what it means to be cared for. Somewhere along the way, life took a difficult turn, and now she needs someone willing to give her another chance.
Puerto Rico has so many wonderful dogs and far too few loving homes. Bringing dogs like Awilda to the States gives them an opportunity they might never have otherwise.
We would love nothing more than to see Awilda leave the shelter behind and start a new chapter with a family who recognizes what a special girl she is.
