Excellent walking companion: Boomer walks gently on leash with very little pulling and is easy to handle. Affectionate and people-oriented: He frequently looks up at his person, checks in, and seeks out affection. He especially enjoys butt scratches! Gentle and polite: Boomer takes treats softly from your hand and is relaxed and easy to engage. Happy to explore: He enjoys some independent sniffing while also staying connected with his person. Calm around other dogs: He notices dogs nearby but remains calm and non-reactive.

Boomer would do best with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with appropriate dog friends.

Boomer's care needs are:

[GREEN]Background: Brought in stray by finder on 9/20/26. Dog was recently adopted from this shelter. Given Green dot on previous intake, no issues with handling for Green volunteers. Updated to Yellow for retreating and growling in kennel on one occasion. Otherwise dog was relaxed with all necessary handling in the shelter. Finder reported dog was running through traffic, evaded capture, and was skittish at first. Lured with food and dog was calm once leashed. Noted dog was calm/relaxed in the car. Given Green dot on most recent intake. Staff noted dog was no trouble on intake. Green volunteers note that dog walks well on leash, is affiliative, takes treats with a soft mouth, shows enjoyment with pets, especially enjoys butt scratches. Green for volunteer handling.
