[YELLOW]Background: Brought in stray on 9/11/26. Finder had the dog in their home for one night. Noted no issues in the home. Finder described dog as beautiful, friendly, playful girl, but pulls frequently. was calm/relaxed and friendly in the car. Green dot on intake, allowed intake staff to vaccinate with no issue, updated to yellow for kenneling because the dog is very strong puller on leash and likes to jump up on people. Handling evaluation on 9/17/26O: Dog was standing at the front of the kennel, very loose wagging tail. Easy to leash. Very strong pulling on leash down the hallway and outside. Dropped leash in the yard. Dog ran the length of the yard multiple times, very relaxed rocking horse gait with relaxed open mouth. Went to the fence to look at another dog in the adjacent yard. Pushed snout at the gate and pawed at the opening. Returned to handler with squeaker. Followed tossed squeaker toy and picked up. Bounced around the yard with squeaker in her mouth before dropping it. No interest in tossed balls. Urinated and defecated in the yard. Ran towards handler when called, very relaxed open mouth and relaxed, loose body language. Jumped up on handler two or three times. Minimal to no body contact. Soft, high wagging tail and relaxed open mouth while petting all over head, neck, back, chest, legs. No issues handling around mouth for teeth check. Approximately 2 years old by teeth. Hard pulling back to kennel with some jumping up at doorways. entered kennel ahead of handler. Removed slip leash by hand.B A: Affiliative, energetic, playful young dog. High energy. Playful with toys and shows enjoyment with pets. Treat motivated. Possibly house trained (eliminates on entering the yard). Knows some basic commands (sit), pulls very hard on leash with some jumping up and zig-zig walking. Yellow for volunteer handling: dog pulls hard on leash and can be jumpy. B P: Make available for adoption. Adopters should continue to work on basic manners (leash skills, recall, sit) using a patient, reward-based training approach. Unknown how this dog may behave around children.B Adopter must be prepared for the time, energy, patience and commitment needed to raise and train an active, juvenile dog.
