During 2025 shelter stay, dog was Green for shelter handling and noted by volunteers to be easy to handle, walked well on leash, gentle, independent, treat motivated, and knows "sit", "paw", "down". Stray intake on 9/14/26. Dog had been held on stray hold at SFACC where dog initially presented as anxious and fearful, but gentle and affiliative once he is comfortable. Given Yellow dot on intake. Intake staff noted that dog was nervous throughout intake but allowed all handling for intake procedures, including vaccines.B Handling evaluation summary of experienced Yellow volunteers handling over two different individual outings on two daysO: Dog was easy to leash. Walked well on leash. Sniffed and walked with relaxed body language and high tail, curling over at the end. Sat automatically whenever handler stopped walking. Took treats gently. Some lip licking and avoidance of eye contact. Tolerated pets, neutral after consent check. No issues re-kenneling.A: Independent adult dog. Slightly anxious, but tolerates handling. Appears to be well trained, walks well on leash and knows some basic commands (sit, down, paw, and sits automatically when handler stops walking). Treat motivated. Somewhat neutral to pets. Historically has little interest in toys. Yellow for shelter handling: dog appears to be somewhat anxious with some interactions, but generally easy to handle.
