This boy was found and published on Facebook. YRH shared that post in hopes owner would reclaim.
Soon afterward, finder gave the dog away. Days later, the dog showed up at Montgomery County Animal Shelter surrendered as a 'sick' dog. We pulled him on a 'medical release' After the stray hold was up, we became the legal owners of this precious boy. The woman who surrendered him said he had 'bloody poop'. No evidence of this was seen in our care and custody. (We speculate he had a load of hookworms, resulting in blood in the stool) He was emaciated and needed to put on about a pound or 2.
He was treated for hookworms and a subsequent fecal was normal. He is still a tiny boy. Fragile.
He will NOT go to a home with children/grandchildren under the age of 5.
This boy had a badly needed dental when he was neutered, and due to chronic neglect, lost 13 teeth.
He has made a full recovery. He walks well on a leash and sleeps well through the night.
