Meet Precious – A Tiny Senior with a Spunky Spirit ❤️Precious is a 13–14-year-old Maltese/Pomeranian mix weighing just 8 pounds, but this tiny senior still has plenty of life and personality! She is incredibly sweet, happy, and surprisingly spunky. She loves sunshine, soft grass, leisurely walks, and simply being near her people. Precious is mostly blind and somewhat deaf, but she adapts beautifully once she learns her surroundings. She can navigate her environment and even manage small sets of stairs. A quiet, predictable home with minimal stairs would be best for her.She is 100% potty trained, rarely makes a peep, and is wonderfully gentle with both dogs and cats. She truly doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Precious absolutely loves her crate and considers it her safe space, where she sleeps peacefully. When loose, she tends to pace and needs supervision, so a home where someone is around much of the time would be ideal. Precious does have some senior medical needs, including arthritis, a heart murmur, and a collapsing trachea. She should always be walked with a harness rather than a collar. Her adopter should be prepared for ongoing veterinary care for her heart, arthritis, and dental health. She's also a bit of a food critic—kibble doesn't impress her, but hamburger and brown rice get two paws up!Precious arrived in rescue severely neglected and badly matted, so she had to be shaved. She may not look like a glamorous Maltese mix just yet, but underneath that haircut is a beautiful little soul who deserves to be cherished. Precious doesn't need a busy lifestyle or big adventures. She needs a soft bed, sunshine, gentle walks, good food, and someone who will love her exactly as she is. This tiny girl has been through enough. Now it's Precious's turn to be someone's precious companion. ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100.
