Meet Mona Lisa Vito! Mona Lisa is a 12-year-old, 20-pound Chihuahua/Beagle mix who has perfected the art of quietly judging everyone from her doggie bed. She’s a low-key girl who loves treats, belly rubs, and having a cozy spot to call her own.Mona Lisa can be shy with new people and needs a patient adopter who will give her time to trust. Once she does, she’s incredibly loving—and she may even ask for affection before running off, only to come right back for more! She’s house- and crate-trained and does well with other dogs who respect her personal space, but she’d likely be happiest as your one-and-only. She has some arthritis and elbow dysplasia and will need lifelong pain management, along with help losing some extra weight. She can manage a few steps but shouldn’t have to navigate lots of stairs.Because she can be nervous and may snap if startled or frightened, Mona Lisa needs an adult-only, quiet home with someone experienced with shy dogs. Cats who give her space may be fine.If you’re looking for a sweet senior who just wants a soft bed, some snacks, belly rubs, and a person she can trust, Mona Lisa may be your girl. ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100.
