Ducky #1 | 4-month-old mix | Your cuddly little puzzle-solving sweetheart
Ducky is an adorable 15-pound puppy who is sweet, friendly, playful, and absolutely full of personality. She loves people and has happily showered kisses on just about everyone she meets. She is a total cuddle bug who loves curling up on laps, resting her head on your legs, showing off her belly for rubs, and even burrowing under blankets or into worn clothing. She is becoming more cuddly every day and has plenty of love to give.
Ducky is also a busy little girl with plenty of puppy energy. She loves walks, playing with other dogs, fetch, squeaky toys, chew toys, and especially puzzle toys. In fact, she is surprisingly good at puzzles and can already solve several different ones! She is food, toy, and affection motivated, which makes redirecting her attention relatively easy and should make training a lot of fun. She already knows sit, responds to her name, and is learning commands like down, off, no, and come.
As a typical 4-month-old puppy, Ducky is still working on house training, leash manners, and learning that not everything in the house is meant to be chewed. She is not yet reliably signaling when she needs to go outside and currently has accidents several times a day, so her new family will need to be prepared for consistent potty training and plenty of patience. She also likes to jump on people, play bite, and occasionally whine or bark in her crate. She sleeps well through the night in her crate and does well when left alone for 3–4 hours as long as she is crated or in a confined space.
Ducky loves other dogs and plays especially well with dogs around her size, although her puppy enthusiasm can be a lot for dogs who aren't fans of puppy energy. She has done well around young children she's encountered on walks, but she has not yet been tested with cats. She can be a little protective of food and toys around other dogs, so continued work on sharing and polite puppy manners will be important.
Ducky would thrive with an active family who can give her plenty of exercise, playtime, training, enrichment, and affection. A fenced yard would be wonderful, but a large apartment could also work for the right family. Most importantly, she needs people who are ready for the fun, work, and occasional chaos that come with raising a puppy. With consistent training and maturity, this smart little girl is sure to grow into an amazing companion. As with any puppy adjusting to a new home, accidents can happen while she settles into her new routine.
