Oakley is a handsome young pitty mix who, through no fault of his own but due to changes with his family, needs a new home. Oakley is a fun and goofy boy who gets very attached to his people. He is friendly meeting new people and when he met our volunteers, he was excited and greeted them with wiggles and kisses. Although he has never been off leash with another dog, he is friendly meeting other dogs and did great with our volunteer dog. We think he would be a good match for another playful dog. No cats for him. He also lives part time with a 5 year old human sibling and does great with her, though we wouldn’t recommend he live with kids younger than that only because of his size and energetic personality. Oakley is crate trained and does okay in the car. He loves to play with his bark box toys and getting pet. He currently lives in an apartment and as long as he has a few walks a day he is happy and calm at home, though he would probably love a yard to run in or an active family. He is here in NJ ready to meet his forever family. We think he would do great with an active family who can give him the attention he loves getting.
Note: Oakley is coming to us through our owner surrender program. They will remain under the care of their owner until they are officially transferred to Wag On Inn to an approved foster or adopter. Oakley is neutered, and will be micro-chipped and brought up to date on all vaccines prior to adoption.
Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
