Stormy is an 8-year-old husky/malamute with an auburn-and-white coat, kind eyes, and delightfully huge paws. She is calm, sweet, and easy to live with.
She loves people of all ages and considers every new person a friend. At home, she wants to be near her humans without being demanding about it. She is quiet and does not bark, although she may occasionally offer a joyful howl.
Stormy is housetrained and crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and is good off leash with decent recall. She is spayed and UTD on vaccines. She is wonderful at the dog park and loves other dogs of all sizes. She would make an ideal second dog—not only because she enjoys canine company, but because she is so calm, adaptable, and undramatic.
Stormy might be firmly in her middle age years, but she has plenty of life, energy, and adventure in her. She would be a terrific companion for hikes, outings, road trips (she loves car rides!), and long on- or off-leash walks. She is playful and loves chasing balls and rolling around with them.
Stormy is eager to please and responds beautifully to gentle corrections. In fact, she approaches criticism with almost comical humility. She immediately looks deeply sorry for disappointing you and appears sincerely committed to making better choices.
Her previous family loved her and kept up with her veterinary care, but they could not give her the time, exercise, and attention she deserved. They wanted her to have a fuller and more active life. If her adopter is interested in taking on her existing pet insurance policy, that is an option.
Her former owners reported that she sometimes ate fabric toys or even chowed down on cloth dog beds, so she should be monitored around these items.
Stormy’s future family should be prepared to give her the active, connected life she deserves, including regular dog park visits, hikes, walks, playtime, or other adventures with her people. In return, they will get an extraordinarily loving, gentle, well-trained companion who asks for very little beyond the chance to enjoy the rest of her life alongside them.
