Clem is probably the easiest cat out there. His rescuer's found him on Halloween, stuck in a bush in Brooklyn. He had spent the first six months of his life on the streets, weighed only about 3 pounds, and had a bad case of Giardia. Thankfully he's healthy now and up to 6 pounds, though he's still a pretty small cat. He is unbelievably affectionate. When you come home, he'll run over, scream at you, and hug your leg. He loves being held, sleeps with you, and every morning (or when you get home from work) he'll ask to be picked up for a little cuddle. He'd do best with someone who can give him lots of attention.
Clem can be a little shy at first, but he has never scratched or bitten anyone, not even when he was brand new to his rescuer's home. He grew up alongside their, and while they aren't best friends, they coexist happily and occasionally play. He's incredibly low-maintenance when it comes to food and the litter box. He'll eat absolutely anything (keep an eye on the trash can—old habits die hard), rarely gets sick, and has never had litter box issues. His rescuer free-feeds him because he's a little underweight.
Ironically, Clem hates being outside now. Once he's settled somewhere, he wants nothing to do with leaving. Growing up outside made him afraid of going back. He's on a great sleep schedule. He mostly sleeps when his people do. Every once in a while he'll wake up for a five-minute burst of chaos because he wants to play, then he'll come right back to bed. More than anything, Clem wants to find a home where he'll be loved, spoiled, and have someone to play and cuddle with every day.
This is a courtesy listing, meaning the cat(s) are being offered for adoption by a rescuer, rescue group, or individual unaffiliated with the Brooklyn Cat Cafe or Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition. As BBAWC has not evaluated the animal(s) we therefore cannot provide information on health or temperament (however, we have met Clem and he is the sweetest!). After we receive an application, we will connect you with the current caretaker of this cat.
This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.
