A SWEET & PRECIOUS YOUNG PUPPY: Approx. 3-4 months old / Approx. 25 lbs. & growing
Hi there, I’m Emmit! I’m a darling puppy who somehow ended up at animal control, but I’m so grateful to be with Mostly Mutts now, where I’m getting all the love and good care I deserve. I don’t remember much about my past, but I do know I came in with non-contagious mange and needed a fresh start and good medical care. Thankfully, I’m getting all of that and am doing great! I’m also having lots of fun with the wonderful volunteers and counting down the days until I find a loving family to call my very own!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you gave a nice doggie that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I didn’t have the best start in life, but everyday I’m becoming braver and letting my sweet personality shine. I was very nervous and scared when I first arrived, but it didn’t take long for me to start feeling safe and loved, growing more confident each day and becoming curious, active, playful, loving and happy. I’m a gentle, precious little guy who quickly learns to trust when someone sits with me and shows me a little patience. I take my medicated baths like a little gentleman, quietly taking it all in stride. Beneath my initially timid nature is a loving puppy who is blossoming more every day and is ready to continue that journey with a caring family. / Energy level: 4-6.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer! Check back soon to see what I've learned and let's continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs (once I’ve had all my puppy shots)! I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve had some accidents on the shelter schedule but not a lot for a puppy, so keep me on a good schedule with positive reinforcement and I think I’ll pick it up well.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love treats, plush toys, and just about any other toy I can play with! Most of all, I enjoy spending time with loving, gentle people who help me feel safe and show me lots of kindness. / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, though like all dogs I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow. I’m also micro-chipped and neutered. I’m receiving twice weekly medicated baths which can easily be done in my new home for my non-contagious mange and soon all my fur will be back, and I’ll be handsome as can be!
