Sweet Lily was pulled from the shelter. She came in very shy and this is what her foster mom has to say
Lily is a sweet and sensitive girl that is figuring out this new chapter in her life. She is highly intelligent and inquisitive. Lily loves to be loved and we ensure that she knows that. Lily needs a patient and experienced adopter. We are working on building Lily's self-esteem and gaining weight. Lily is a picky eater, but we are exposing her to different foods and treats, so her diet becomes more diverse. She loves cheese and eggs. Her favorite flavor is beef. She loves having broth or gravy on her meals. Lily doesn't know how big she is, so she can be clumsy. Lily also gives us little glimpses of who she really is when she is being goofy - flopping on the couch, doing zoomies, or putting her paw on a barking dog to quiet them. Lily loves to snuggle with us on the couch. We are still working on potty training Lily. Lily does wonderfully on walks. We use a harness and leash. She has a heightened sense of smell. She is afraid of the rain. Lily sleeps in our bedroom on her own bed. She is welcome to sleep with us, but at this point she prefers not to. Lily is a protective dog and already makes sure that we are safe and the house is guarded. I would recommend that Lily live in a home that is on the quiet side. She would benefit from a dog sibling, but introductions are a must to ensure they will get along. I also recommend a home without cats. She is very curious about cats and barks at them (doesn't hurt them). Lily has figured out that kitty crunchies are delicious. Lily is a very special dog and needs a very special adopter. The adopter needs previous experience with GSDs and a lot of patience while Lily settles in and learns to trust.
