Here's Your Quick Peek:
Please Note: Carolina Poodle Rescue requires a meet and greet where everyone living in the home - all people and all dogs - will come to our farm to meet dogs. This is non-negotiable. Please do not apply if you and your family can't make this commitment.
Kilo is a sweet and loving Miniature Poodle who came to CPR after being surrendered to a shelter. We happened to meet him while picking up another dog and knew he deserved a chance at a better future.
Kilo was very nervous during his first day with us, but once he realized he was safe, he settled in beautifully. Today, he's an affectionate little guy who loves attention, adores sitting in laps, and would happily spend most of his day being loved on by his people.
Must have: adult‑only home, patient adopter, continued basic training and manners
Exercise: moderate - walks, playtime, and companionship
Best with: adults, respectful dog companions, someone home often
Not ideal for: homes with children or dogs that overwhelm other dogs
Energy level: medium - affectionate, playful, and people‑oriented
We were told through word of mouth that Kilo had allegedly bitten a child. We have no proof, documentation, or firsthand knowledge of what occurred, and this is the only information we were provided. Under our care, we have not observed any biting behavior. Kilo can become a little mouthy when he's excited and playing with people, and we suspect this may have contributed to what happened previously, but we simply do not know for certain. Because of the unknown history, Kilo is looking for a child‑free home. Kilo prefers people over dogs and would rather coexist than wrestle and play. He can be selective about his dog friends and doesn't enjoy dogs that constantly jump on him or invade his space. He loves attention, affection, and being close to his people.
Good with dogs: yes, with respectful dogs
Good with kids: no — adult‑only home recommended
Cats: unknown
Fun fact:
Kilo's favorite place is your lap. Once he trusts you, he'll happily curl up beside you and soak up every bit of attention you're willing to give.
