From the internet: "November is officially recognized as National Senior Pet Month (and Adopt a Senior Pet Month), dedicated to raising awareness about the unique needs, care, and adoption of aging cats and dogs. [1, 2, 3]
When Is a Cat Considered Senior?
Senior Stage: Generally begins around 7 to 10 years of age.
Geriatric Stage: Often classified starting around 11 to 15 years of age.
Equivalent: A 10-to-11-year-old cat is roughly equivalent to a 65-year-old human. [1, 2, 3, 4]"
Please ask about us!!! We have lots of love to give!!! Many people look for kittens and young adult cats. Older cats are looking for love and companionship, too. We have a few cats that are designated as senior.
Sadly, as cats grow older, are no longer kittenish, have some medical issues, their person dies and no one will take them in, etc., some are kicked out and left to fend for themselves. Forgotten Cats welcomes those that find their way into our feral cat traps, and we welcome back cats that had been adopted many years ago.
All of the kitties have their own posts, so you can find out more info about them and see other pix. Our other senior and older cats are Ernest/Ernie (~16), Diesel (~12), Mona (~10) and Sadie (~9).
Not ready to adopt? Thank you! (Foster: Trainer & Willow Grove clinic/shelters and Foster Families)
