Meet Ollie!
Ollie is a 9-year-old fawn pug weighing in around 30 pounds. He’s got good energy for a middle aged man, and a happy personality! He loves playing with toys, going for walks, getting treats, and pretty much anything that involves being with people. He’s a big fan of snuggling and will make sure he’s touching you at all times, so personal space isn’t really his thing!
Ollie recently had a BOAS procedure to help him breathe more comfortably, and he’s ready to enjoy all the good things life has to offer.
Ollie spent a lot of time in a crate in his previous home and may not have had many opportunities to socialize. This has made him a little anxious having so much freedom. He’s doing a great job adjusting and getting comfortable in his surroundings.
He previously lived as the only dog in his home, so he’s still learning how to share his space, especially when treats or favorite toys are involved. He’s making progress and learning not to overreact. He is currently living with 5 other dogs of all genders and sizes so he’s having a lot of opportunities to refine his skills. He’d do best with a tolerant canine companion who can give him some grace while he adjusts, or he’d be perfectly happy as an only dog soaking up all the attention. He was reported to be okay with cats and children, although his foster family hasn’t had the chance to test that firsthand.
He’s already got some good manners, too! Ollie is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and has pretty good leash manners. We were told he had some marking habits in the house, but since being neutered, we’ve only seen him mark once. If he needs something, like to go outside, he will bark at you to let you know. He’s making great progress!
Ollie could fit into a variety of homes with a family willing to be patient and give him time to settle in. He’s still learning, but with some consistency and understanding, we think he’ll continue to blossom.
