Meet Erica, a lovable little “lowrider” looking for a home! With her long dachshund-like body and terrier spirit, this sturdy, approximately 25-pound girl has plenty of personality. She loves greeting her people and is learning to settle down and enjoy couch cuddles.
Erica is smart, active, and eager to learn. She interacts well with other dogs and has made wonderful progress with her foster family. She can be excitable when greeting people and has shown possessiveness toward her person. Her foster family reports that they are no longer seeing possessive behavior, but her adopter should be prepared to continue working on these skills.
Her best match is an experienced dog owner who can offer patience, a predictable routine, and consistent, reward-based training. Her foster family continues to introduce her to visitors to help her practice calm greetings. Continued support will help her build on that progress in a new home.
Erica doesn’t need someone to expect perfection—she needs someone committed to helping her succeed. If you’re looking for a spirited companion and are ready to continue her training, ask about meeting Erica.
