A sweet six-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently in Ellsworth AFB, SD, whose beautiful black coat with white accents matches her wonderfully lovable personality. At 80 pounds, this affectionate girl has a big heart, an even bigger love for her people, and a special talent for turning ordinary moments into cozy memories!
Picky is a devoted companion who believes togetherness makes everything better. Whether she's following you from room to room, curling up beside you for a nap, or patiently hoping for a tasty snack, she's happiest near her favorite humans. She's wonderfully intuitive, often sensing emotions and offering quiet companionship when needed. Her favorite activities include snuggling, relaxing, enjoying car rides, and supervising snack time!
This clever girl knows several commands, including sit, lay, kennel, and outside, with an occasional shake when she's feeling cooperative. She's house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. She also handles time alone comfortably, often napping or watching the world through a window.
Picky needs a peaceful, adult-only home with an experienced pet parent who understands canine body language and respects her boundaries. She's protective of her loved ones and may respond defensively to unfamiliar approaches. She has growled at small children and can react when dogs attempt to mount her. She's selective with canine companions, and her compatibility with cats is unknown.
Loud noises, particularly thunderstorms, fireworks, and jet engines, frighten her, although comforting snuggles help. A quieter environment would support her emotional well-being.
Picky previously injured her right hind leg, which still limits jumping and running. She's also carrying extra weight, so gentle activity and thoughtful nutrition would benefit her.
This low-energy sweetheart doesn't need endless adventures. She needs patience, understanding, a comfortable couch, and someone who appreciates unconditional companionship.
