sandy

OTHER PETS: Sandy has shown as small amount of interest in other dogs but disengages fairly quickly. She would likely do best with a dog with a similar, well-socialized dog. She's been more timid with larger dogs. A meet is must with any dog Sandy might live with to help set them up for success. [Case-By-Case(Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Sandy can be wary of strangers and may need some time to warm up to both someone new and a whole new environment. Someone that can provide the patience and time Sandy needs to fully settle in would be her best match. [Some Experience] KIDS: Sandy is wary of new people and environments, and unpredictable movements or sudden sounds will startle her. She will likely do best in a quiet home without a lot of foot traffic, without the excitement of younger kids. [15+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Sandy hasn't shown much interest in play during her stay at TJO, but will brighten up when she sees her favorite people! She may show more interest and energy as she continues to settle into a new home. [Couch Potato/Good Walking Buddy]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Sandy will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Sandy not only learn her basic cues, but also help her to feel more comfortable and confident in herself! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner as well. [Moderate] GROOMING: Sandy has a longer-length coat, so she will need to be brushed regularly to keep her comfortable and prevent any knots from forming. [Routine Brushing]
