Sometimes, all it takes is one picture to change a life. And in Joleen's case, it was those soulful eyes. Seriously, those eyes should come with a warning label because one look and you're emotionally attached to a dog you've never even met. ❤️
We may never know the first chapter of Joleen's life. It appears she may have been hit by a car, and now she's dealing with a dislocated hip that will require orthopedic surgery. Not exactly the kind of adventure any girl signs up for!
Unfortunately, so many of the dogs we meet have been dealt a pretty crappy hand in life. Joleen is no exception, but we're hoping her luck is about to change. And by change, we mean LOTS of love, good food, cozy beds, and absolutely no more automotive encounters.
Named after Dolly Parton's legendary song Jolene, this girl may have stolen our hearts, but we have a feeling she's going to steal someone else's couch, bed, and probably a few snacks before all is said and done. She's a happy girl and does well with other dogs, and we'll learn even more about her as she recovers.
First things first, though: that hip needs some professional attention. Joleen will undergo orthopedic surgery, and once her surgeon gives her the all-clear, she'll be ready to find her forever home.
We're not sure what happened in the beginning of her story, but we're pretty confident about how the ending should go: a family who adores her, a comfy place to snooze, a full belly, and someone who sings Jolene to her even though they absolutely cannot carry a tune.
She's been through enough heartbreak, so from here on out, we're aiming for belly rubs, happy tails, and the kind of life every dog deserves.
Hang in there, sweet Joleen. Your fairy tale is getting a rewrite, and this time the only thing getting stolen is someone's heart (and maybe a sandwich off the counter). ❤️
