Aber is a gorgeous, soft-as-can-be boy who has come such a long way since being rescued from a life of neglect outdoors. He was pretty much a feral kitty when he first arrived, but he's been learning how to be a spoiled indoor cat, and his progress has been amazing!
His brother, Broadwick, has been a big part of that. Aber looks to him for reassurance and guidance, and Broadwick seems to know just how to handle his brother's mischievous side. These two are quite the pair! They wrestle, tumble, chase each other around, and then turn into little lovebugs. They would be wonderful adopted together, although both also get along well with other cats.
Aber is a busy boy with lots of kitten-like energy. He loves to play, wants to know what you're doing, and is always happy to have your attention, pets, and especially food! He's curious, affectionate, and just a little ornery.
Aber is still learning that he is safe and doesn't have to worry anymore. When something frightens or overwhelms him, he sometimes gets overstimulated and may nip because he doesn't quite know how to handle those feelings yet. But the improvement we've seen in just the past month has been incredible! He responds well to gentle guidance and is learning more every day.
He can be picked up and held when he's in the mood, and he even goes into his carrier nicely. Underneath all that energy and occasional attitude is a sweet boy who really wants to trust and be loved.
Aber would do best with someone who understands cats, has patience, and enjoys a playful, sometimes mischievous companion. Having Broadwick by his side would be a wonderful bonus! Abernath is indoor only and lives in Damascus with his family. His adoption fee is $150
