10/19/26 13:40 Remainder of dental work was performed in shelter today. Leo's gums are expected to heal up within 14 days. Leo has been hissing in his kennel; he was suspected to be prior owned and abandoned. Due to exhibiting high FAS (hissing, hiding in den) in shelter environment, remains on needs rescue urgent, but also available to an adopter who can give Leo a comfortable home to decompress in. Some of his hissing and hiding behavior observed between 10/6 and 10/19 may be pain-mediated due to oral pain. Now that all painful teeth are extracted, his behavior will continued to be monitored in shelter. 10/06/26 16:22 Middle aged-to-senior cat presented to shelter with non specific clinical signs. On examination, patient has severe periodontal disease at maxillary carnassial teeth, gingival recession at maxillary canine teeth, and FORL lesions at 307, 308, 309 and 407, 408, 409. The patient had several teeth extracted at the time of castration today, but the dental work was staged due to length of procedure and capacity constraints - therefore patient is in need of urgent rescue to perform remainder of needed dental extractions (~5-7 other teeth). Senior thoracic/abdominal radiographs were unremarkable, labwork was unremarkable, T4 is within reference range and FELV/FIV/HWT negative. This cat is believed to be prior owned and possible abandoned.
