He is named as a wish to hear him purr because he was so silent at first, and now he is a purring machine. A smaller adult male with a beautiful black and white coat in interesting patterns (especially around his eyes, almost like a mask), glowing yellow eyes and very white teeth. We found Jaspürr in Clay St Park, by Rt 1S ramp early August 2026; all alone, scared and hungry. He was guarded and wary of humans, maybe due to past/recent history, but brave enough to accept food from a distance. The vet estimated him to be around 2yrs old, though he looks younger. Jaspürr feels thin for his 8 lbs. and eats a lot, guess to compensate for prior hunger. We are fostering him for Trenton Cats Rescue. Jaspürr has a playful and intense personality, once you gain his trust. It took a few weeks to do this, but now he really likes and looks for his humans, if tentative at first. He is fast to explore his surroundings, jumping/climbing everywhere at his own pace. Jaspürr truly, carefully observes and learns about his humans with those bright eyes of his, you can almost see his brain trying to understand his humans’ actions. He has a soft meow, sounds almost like a baby. Jaspürr is very shy and reserved at first, it can take a few days for him to warm up, again likely due to prior experiences. Once he trusts you, he loves to lay by your side, rub his head on your hands and being brushed all over. His purr is constant during these interactions, like a tiny lion looking for attention. He does not mind to be held for a few minutes, best if wrapped on a blanket/towel. This is a good way to get his attention, make eyes at him and trim his nails. Jaspürr seems attracted to chewing toys and food puzzles; he loves scratching cat trees. Not really into wands or any toy that makes sounds/moves at this time. So far, we don’t know how he relates to other cats, as our own 9-year-old cat avoids other cats. Jaspürr was sterilized, microchipped, vaccinated, flea treated on 1 Sept 2026. Food is the clear way to get his immediate attention and later his trust, let him identify you with feeding times. He is not fussy with food at all, eats absolutely everything you put in front of him (dry kibble, wet canned food, bisque, stews, little soups, Churu/mousse, treats, even leftovers from our own cat!) to completion. He can get impatient waiting for food; bowls to slow his eating down and a stable/loving home can help. Litter box-trained and very clean. Still, he is a petite cat. His coat is lustrous and shiny, meticulous at cleaning himself. His paws are strong and has sharp claws, recommend trimming often. We keep water bowls around and fresh cat grass available for him (he likes to chew cat grass). Jaspürr likes sunning and looking out of windows for hours, happily watching birds/squirrels/clouds. We also play a classical music station for him a few hours per day to keep him company. So far, he’s not curious of doors because he stays on one bigger room upstairs, best being aware as cats can be curious of outside and get in problems. He can slip out easily as he’s small with slick coat.
All our cats are neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed and flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and microchipped prior to adoption. Thanks for opting to adopt!
