Meet Rosa, the 4 month old pittie gal. We donât have a lot of information about Rosaâs life prior to her arrival at the Shelter. She is enjoying socializing with staff and volunteers and then taking puppy snoozes in between times out. Adopters should anticipate starting things fresh with all things puppy â potty training, leash walking and age appropriate socialization. Rosa would love to bond with her new family through positive reinforcement based training. Any resident dogs should meet in the home prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Rosa with children or cats. Rosa is available for pre-adoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
