Husky/Shepherd

I was found as a stray by some nice people who helped me find my way to Forte Animal Rescue. I had a microchip, so they were able to contact my previous owner, who clearly never understood what it meant to be my guardian. He told them he didn’t want me anymore because he didn’t have time for a puppy. (Then why did he adopt me in the first place?)

Fortunately, I now have a wonderful foster home where there’s plenty of time for a puppy like me! I share my home with a big, friendly German Shepherd and a cat, and I get along great with both! I’m enjoying life with my foster family, but what I’d really love is a forever home of my very own. Could that be yours? Come meet me at a Forte adoption event!

If you are interested in meeting Ramona, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions.

[Ramona is about 4 months old and weighs 23 lbs.]

Our Mission:

To inspire compassion and responsibility for animals, in addition to rescuing, rehabilitating and finding homes for companion animals.

Our Profile:

Forte Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, seeking solutions for pet-overpopulation, as well as working together with the community to cultivate the human-animal bond through educational programs and activities.

Our Objectives:

After years of work in animal rescue, we established this unique organization in January 2003 to function as a "hub" for people and the rescue community in order to help each other. We believe this is necessary in helping the rescue community to achieve its common goals of saving the lives of as many animals as possible.

Stop people from taking their animals to the pound through our Outreach Program by advising them of possible solutions, introducing them to appropriate trainers for their specific problems, or assisting them in finding new homes for their pets through our Adoption Program.

Serve as a liaison between animals and the general public. Our new educational program will help improve pet-people relations and understanding of responsibilities. This is especially important because lack of such knowledge is one of the direct causes of abandonment of companion animals.
