Greetings from down south. My name is NIEVE, and here is a little info about me:Breed: HuskyAge: 7 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 54 lbsCountry of origin: MexicoHighlight(s): Devoted mama, calm temperament, beautifully adapted to home lifeUnlike many huskies, I am not high-energy or demanding. I’m a gentle, affectionate girl who loves being close to my people. After surviving life on the streets, I now cherish the comfort and safety of a warm home.Abandoned on the streets in the southern area of Mexico, because I was not spayed, I ended up having a litter of puppies. This, while trying to survive outdoors. From that litter, only one puppy survived — my daughter, Loola (also posted.)Thankfully, I was rescued and brought into a safe home environment where I have adapted very well to domestic life and human interaction. My rescuer states I have shown what a remarkable and resilient dog I am. Now, I enjoy stability, kindness, and the comfort of indoor living. I am calm, loving, and very people-oriented. I enjoy attention and welcome visitors with a relaxed and friendly nature. I bond closely with my humans and have a quiet, loving presence. I also have excellent manners and am house-trained.When it comes to other dogs, I am generally calm and not aggressive. I typically keep my distance or ignore unfamiliar dogs at first. On occasion, I may give a low growl if another dog is too invasive in my space, but I will not escalate or initiate conflict. With proper introductions and respectful dogs, I relax over time. Are you aware, my name means Snow? Pretty fitting for a husly, don't you think? If you are interested in 2 dogs, my daughter Loola is also needing a home. We do great together. There would be a little discount for adopting more than one of us.I would thrive in a loving home where I can continue enjoying indoor life and companionship. A calm, stable environment with kind and patient adopters would be ideal. Level:Low to moderateI get along with:Dogs: yes (but can be selective)Cats: Unknown, rescuer states yes, await vidsKids: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no vids yetFears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition as I adjust to my new surroundings.Training:Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes: History of adverse reaction to Bravecto. Heartworm testing in process. My hips are currently being evaluated for some potential hip displaysia. If surgical intervention is needed, I will have that completed, so I won't have issues once adopted.I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper.
