Hello! My name is ChooChoo (Chacha) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Terrier/Canaan dog/Whippet mix (Baladi dog)Age: 3.5 yearsGender: MaleWeight: 16 kgHeight: 57 cmHighlights: friendly, active, playful, outgoing, sweet, fun-lovingAll aboard the party train, ChooChoo is pulling into the station! I’m a sweet, fun-loving boy now that things are on the right track for me, but it wasn’t always such an easy ride. Not much is known about my past, but when I was rescued they found me skinny, full of worms, and not used to human contact. But now it’s full steam ahead for this boy! They call me ChooChoo, because I am a very silly boy who likes to hold your ‘caboose’ when I walk behind you. What a long way from the timid, unsure boy I used to be! I went from hiding and timidly greeting my foster to coming and begging for snuggles and kisses from her. I have a disabled doggy friend here who I just love and play with, and even though she can’t run and jump around as well as me, I always check in on her… and even steal treats to bring her! If you are up for 2 pups, she can tag along, if you are open to a real beauty, Nevaeh, she is also posted. I'd love for her to be adopted with me, but understand if that is not possible.I’m very outgoing and love to make friends. Now that I feel safe, I’ve put some weight back on and I’m a runaway locomotive of joy and energy! The perfect home for me would be one full of adventure and active humans. I’d love a backyard of my own, but I would get on just fine accompanying my human for daily exercise. I’d love to live with another dog, but I won’t say no to getting all your love and attention! If you are looking for a sweet, playful boy to roll into your life, I’m your guy! Level: HighI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: yesFears: none observed. Please be patient during my transition.Training: house onlyLeash skills: no. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: yes. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes:I am neutered, vaccinated & microchipped. My adoption fee is $800 CAD plus applicable taxes. If both of us, the fee is $1100. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis.
