Barrel is a beautiful mostly-black boy with the sweetest little white stripe ✨ — and right now he is scared, tucked away, and just waiting for the right person to give him the time and space he needs to come out of his shell.
He didn't want to come out of his kennel during his visit, and that's okay — because Barrel just needs patience and understanding more than anything else in the world right now.
If you're adopting a shy cat, remember the 3-3-3 rule:
3 days
to decompress and feel safe
3 weeks
to start learning your routines and letting you in
3 months
to finally relax and show you who he really is
Give Barrel that time and he will give you everything. The best things are always worth waiting for.
