Puffball came to us because his family said they didn't have room for him. But at just 9 pounds, this sweet boy certainly doesn't need a mansion! All he really needs is a cozy spot to relax, a little quiet time, and a loving family who will give him the chance to feel at home again. Puffball is a calm, gentle soul who may need a little time to warm up to new people, but once he feels comfortable and learns to trust you, his affectionate side begins to shine. He'll happily accept cuddles and show you just how loving he can be. He enjoys playing with ball toys, string toys, and laser pointers, and he appreciates having a scratching post, too. He's great with adults, children, and dogs, although he's more sensitive around other cats and would prefer a home where he can enjoy some peace and quiet. There's one important thing we'd like you to know about Puffball. He's FIV positive, which means he's tested positive for the feline immunodeficiency virus. FIV is primarily spread between cats through deep bite wounds or bodily fluids. It cannot be transmitted to people or dogs, and many FIV-positive cats live long, happy lives with proper care. Puffball can enjoy all the love and companionship any other kitty can. To help keep other cats safe, we recommend a home without FIV-negative cats, or one with another FIV-positive feline companion after appropriate introductions and veterinary guidance. Puffball has so much love to give to someone willing to look beyond a diagnosis and see the wonderful cat underneath. He doesn't need a lot of space, fancy things, or a busy household.
