DOBBY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Dobby Best Guess for Breed: Bassett Hound mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of Sept. 2026 SEX: Male

Approximate Weight: 26.1 lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: Shelter - Dobby needs a foster or adopter to make his way to the DC area

Dobby is Looking For:
Dobby is a one-year-old bundle of charm built low to the ground and high on personality. Our best guess is that he's a Basset Hound mix, though that eager nose and happy tail make us think a Beagle or two may have snuck into the family tree. Whatever his recipe, the result is one very lovable pup.

His tri-color coat of black, tan, and white looks like he dressed up just to meet you, and his short little legs give him a signature waddle that's impossible not to smile at. What he lacks in height he makes up for in enthusiasm. Dobby moves through the world nose-first, and every walk becomes a thrilling investigation of who, what, and when.

What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.
