❤️ Personality & Breed Information
Timber is a fun-loving and friendly Jack Russell Terrier mix weighing 26.5 pounds. He's a cheerful little guy who is ready to bring plenty of personality and happiness into a family of his own.
Timber's friendly nature and playful spirit make him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a young dog to share everyday life with. Whether it's heading out for a walk, playing together, exploring somewhere new, or spending time with his people, Timber is ready to be part of the fun.
Jack Russell Terriers are often known for being bright, curious, energetic, confident, and full of personality. They may be small, but they can have plenty of enthusiasm for life. Timber will benefit from a home that provides him with regular opportunities to exercise, explore, play, and use his mind.
Daily walks, interactive toys, games, positive-reinforcement training, and plenty of quality time with his family will help keep this young boy happy and fulfilled.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
At only one year old, Timber is still a young dog, so continued training and consistency will be important.
Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, and adopters should be prepared to continue working on house manners as needed, leash skills, basic commands, recall, calm greetings, and household boundaries.
Jack Russell mixes can be clever and enthusiastic learners. Keeping training positive, engaging, and consistent can help Timber learn what is expected of him while strengthening his relationship with his new family.
The 3-3-3 Rule
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to understand his new household routine
3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home
These are guidelines rather than deadlines. Timber should be given the time and patience he needs to adjust comfortably.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Timber's vaccinations are current. His neuter status is currently unknown.
His adopter should review his medical records with a veterinarian to confirm his neuter status and determine whether any additional veterinary care is needed.
His ongoing care should include routine wellness examinations, recommended vaccinations, flea and parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, grooming, nail care, and veterinary treatment whenever necessary.
