MARCH 2026
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email.
It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life.
The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old.
MAY GRANT and her 4 siblings (KAREN WILSON - JOSH RUSSO - ATHENA GRANT - EDDIE DIAZ) were saved from a hoarding case in Watts, California. They were all barley surviving. We named all the cats that were saved from that place after the characters in the show 911.
Meet MAY GRANT, a gentle brown tabby from Watts, California, whose quiet charm is as soft as her luxurious striped coat. She carries a delicate curiosity about the world, paired with a shy nature that blossoms with patience and care. MAY GRANT’s story began in a challenging situation, as she was rescued from a hoarding environment, and now she is ready to discover the joys of a peaceful and loving home.
Though she may take a little time to step out from her hiding spots, those who get to know her will find a delightful companion who thrives in calm, nurturing surroundings. MAY GRANT has a playful streak that emerges when she feels safe, often batting at toys or chasing a ribbon with the stealthy grace only a tabby can summon. Her gentle demeanor makes her especially compatible with other cats, and she seems to find comfort in feline companionship, often observing or quietly joining in their playful antics.
MAY GRANT's ideal home is one where she can gradually build trust and feel secure, with caregivers who understand the power of patience and soft encouragement. Positive reinforcement and a calm environment will help her confidence grow, and she is sure to reward careful attention with moments of affection, soft purring, and gentle head nudges once she feels comfortable. She is not one for loud chaos but thrives on steady routines, quiet play, and gentle interaction, making her a perfect companion for those who appreciate a cat who comes into her own at her own pace.
She is a resilient little soul with a story that inspires compassion and empathy. Every playful pounce and tentative nuzzle she offers is a glimpse of the love and joy she is ready to share with her new caregiver. MAY GRANT is waiting for a home where she can feel truly safe, loved, and understood, and where her unique personality can shine at its own sweet rhythm.
Are you ready to welcome this shy but spirited tabby into your life and watch her grow into the affectionate companion she is meant to be?
MAY GRANT is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / EGYTIAN MAU TABBY MIX. She is about 1 year 7 months old. She is good with cats. She has never been around children or dogs.
MAY GRANT is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California.
