Meet Eddie: The Sassy House Panther (Yes, Eddie is a lady, and she rocks the name!)
At around four years old, Eddie was surrendered to the Trenton shelter with her walls all the way up and a serious "do not disturb" vibe. We don't know exactly what happened in her previous home, but it was clear that humans hadn't been kind to her. Her defensive, spicy attitude was just her way of protecting herself.
But then, Eddie hit the foster jackpot. She moved in with one of our most experienced foster moms and slowly began to realize that she was finally safe. After months of patience and respecting her space, Eddie had a revelation: Humans aren't so bad, as long as they know their place.
Let’s be clear: Eddie is not a snuggle bug. She has worked hard to leave her past behind and learn to trust, but she is still an independent queen who can be temperamental. She is looking for a roommate arrangement rather than a lap-cat lifestyle. She enjoys being around her people and getting petted, but strictly on her own terms. If you cross a boundary, she will be the first to let you know! She is a cat with character, and we love her for it.
Eddie’s Ideal Vibe:
A Zen Retreat: A calm, adults-only home is strictly required. Eddie says absolutely no kids—she needs a quiet, predictable environment without any chaotic, high-speed energy.
A Respectful Staff: People who are fluent in feline body language, appreciate a sassy panther, and don't mind a cat who plays hard to get.
Eddie did the hard work of learning how to trust again, and now she just needs a patient, understanding human to appreciate her exactly as she is. Are you ready to earn the respect of this beautiful, boundary-setting house panther?
All our cats are neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed and flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and microchipped prior to adoption. Thanks for opting to adopt!
