Hi, I’m Norman! I’m definitely on the shy side, and the shelter can be a pretty overwhelming place for a guy like me. I’m still learning that people can be okay, but I’ve started making some tiny steps in the right direction. One of my volunteers sat quietly with me and offered some very tasty beef tallow, and eventually I worked up the courage to come a little closer and even look around at what was happening outside my kennel. Baby steps, right?I’ve also been getting to know some of the other dogs. I’m nervous at first and tend to keep to myself, but I’ve loosened up a little during playgroup and have been okay with polite greetings. I’m much more comfortable having some space, so I like to keep my distance from my human friends while I figure things out. I’m looking for someone patient who will let me go at my own pace and give me the time and quiet I need to come out of my shell. I may not be ready to be your best friend on day one, but I’m hoping you’ll stick around long enough to see who I can become.
