Meet Babyboy Babyboy has already lived enough lives for a cat twice his age—and somehow, he came out of it convinced that the entire world is wonderful. This ridiculously sweet little guy was saved from an overcrowded Houston shelter after arriving as a confiscation case. At the time, Babyboy had a large open wound across his neck, was underweight, dealing with intestinal parasites and skin issues, and generally looked like life had not been particularly kind to him. Apparently Babyboy did not get the memo that this was supposed to make him cautious. Instead, he emerged from his ordeal with the firm belief that everyone is his friend, everything is great, and absolutely nothing bad could ever happen to him. His survival instincts are...questionable. His capacity for love, however, is exceptional. When his Houston foster carefully introduced him to their dogs, they prepared for a slow, cautious introduction. Babyboy had other plans. The dogs yelled at him. They stomped around him. They investigated him from every possible angle. Babyboy remained completely unconcerned. After living with dogs for a while, there is now a legitimate possibility that Babyboy believes he is one. He has become completely comfortable sharing his home with them and even learned that when a dog is particularly annoying, he can puff himself up and look intimidating. His foster was very proud of this development. Babyboy's approach to humans is equally fearless. He enjoys walking directly underneath your feet and seems genuinely surprised that humans continue to possess feet after he has done so. He is an accomplished trip hazard and should not be trusted with workplace safety. His other talents include eating wet food, producing disproportionately stinky poops, occasionally tooting, playing with feather wand toys, and—most importantly—being held like a human baby. Because Babyboy LOVES being held. His Houston foster has cared for countless animals over the years and describes him as genuinely one of the cuddliest kittens she's ever met. He'll happily run around and play, entertain himself when necessary, and chase a feather wand with the best of them, but his favorite place is with his people. Pick him up, hold him against you, and this little guy simply melts. He's remarkably gentle, too. Despite being a playful kitten, he makes an effort to keep his claws to himself and doesn't make a habit of attacking hands or feet. Belly rubs, however, are not included in the Babyboy package. He will politely tolerate some belly touching because he is a gentleman, but he would like his permanent record to clearly reflect that he does not enjoy it. His litter box résumé is also impressive. There was one unfortunate poop-related incident on his first day in foster care, but Babyboy would like everyone to move past that. Since then, he has maintained an excellent track record. The poops may be stinky, but they are reliably located where they belong. Growth! Babyboy hasn't recently lived with other cats, so we don't know exactly how he'd feel about a feline roommate. But he has become wonderfully comfortable around dogs and seems completely unfazed by them. After everything Babyboy survived in Houston, he made the long journey to Colorado to begin the next chapter of his life. The hard part is behind him. Now this ridiculous, goofy, affectionate little kitten just needs a family willing to love him, hold him like a baby, keep the wet food coming, and occasionally remind him that walking directly underneath moving human feet is a terrible idea. Babyboy has already captured a whole lot of hearts along the way. Now he's ready to find the one he gets to keep forever. This cat was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas and is now safe with 4 Paws 4 Life Rescue.
