Meet Winston! Winston is a 7 week old, 3.4 pound Chug, a Chihuahua and Pug mix. His foster family describes him as a thoughtful little guy who likes to observe what is happening before deciding to jump in. While he may have been the last of his siblings to start walking, Winston has shown from the beginning that he has plenty of determination. He was born with swimmer puppy syndrome and needed some extra help getting his legs underneath him. With daily exercises and a little assistance from his foster family, all of his hard work paid off and Winston learned to walk on his own.
His determination is actually how Winston got his name. His foster family named him after Sir Winston Churchill because even when things were a little more challenging for him, he kept finding a way forward. Now that he can keep up with his siblings, Winston enjoys playing and exploring, but he also appreciates the quieter side of puppy life. He loves a good nap and especially enjoys relaxing with his sister Raven, who seems to share his appreciation for quality downtime. Winston has also been raised around much larger dogs and is comfortable checking them out before continuing on with his day.
Winston is a sweet, resilient little puppy with a nice balance of playfulness and calm. He may take a moment to observe before joining the action, but once he does, he is happy to be part of the fun. Winston is ready for a family who will continue helping him grow, learn, and discover the world at his own pace.
