Suki is a 2 year old loving, goofy, energetic, sweet, and loyal dog who will thrive with an active family or person who understands and appreciates the intelligence and exuberance of a young GSD. She will do best in an adult only home (NO cats) where she can run and play to her heart’s content.
A home with a backyard would be ideal.
Suki was rescued from a local shelter about 2 years ago, she is a high energy, easily excitable, and protective dog.
Suki is very smart and was trained at Applejack K-9 Academy & Kennel. She knows commands with hand signals - COME, SIT, DOWN, STAY, HEEL, STAND, FINISH, WAIT, DROP IT, LEAVE IT, OFF, GIVE EASY, GENTLE, KENNEL, RELEASE, and BALL. There is no limit to her intelligence, she is a very quick learner. She has been trained with an e-collar.
She would be a great working dog on a farm or as a scent detection dog.
She loves a mission and is very obedient and committed in this regard! She is great at obstacle courses too.
Suki likes to play with stuffed animals and balls of any kind, especially Jolly Balls and balls that make noise. She enjoys playing monkey in the middle with a ball or toy, fetch, chase and tug. She also likes hunting for treats that are hidden around the house.
She adores having chewable treats that soften as she chews them and peanut butter-filled plastic or natural bones.
Suki has one ear! The original rescue believes it was a birth deformity since it was fully healed and healthy when she arrived to them at 4 weeks.
Suki's best life includes
plenty of exercise at local parks, and/or trails, training, guidance and structure.
