She is affectionate, enjoys being with people, and has shown tremendous recovery after treatment for pneumonia and pancreatitis-related illness.
Must have: A family committed to continuing routine veterinary care and helping Shelby maintain her healthy weight and condition.
Exercise: Moderate daily exercise including walks, outdoor time, and family interaction. Shelby appears healthy and active following her recovery.
Best with: People looking for a mature, affectionate companion who enjoys attention and companionship.
Not ideal for: Homes unable to provide ongoing monitoring of general health and wellness or those seeking a very high-energy dog.
Energy level: Moderate. Shelby is bright, alert, and in healthy condition following recovery and veterinary treatment.
Shelby experienced serious respiratory and gastrointestinal illness shortly after entering rescue, including bronchopneumonia and suspected pancreatitis, but she responded well to treatment and was cleared to return to the farm. Her most recent veterinary examination found her healthy with normal physical findings and a bright attitude.
