Meet Jack, the spunky, 5-year-old, 10-pound Southern gentleman who journeyed all the way from Arkansas to Minnesota in search of his true kingdom. This tiny dog has a massive heart, perfectly blending the proud nature of a loyal watchdog with the absolute sweetness of a deeply devoted companion. Jack likes to be the undisputed leading man of the household and truly thrives on being the center of attention. He takes his role as Chief Security Officer seriously, too—nothing gets past this little guy, and he will quickly let you know if he hears a suspicious sound or sees something he thinks might be threatening. Most of all, Jack loves his people and his pack fiercely. He has a serious case of FOMO and wants to be included in everything his family does, so if he is separated or crated while the other pets are free to roam, he may cry because he wants to be right there with his family. At bedtime, Jack is an absolute dream companion. He curls up in bed with his people and sleeps peacefully through the entire night without an accident. He reliably does his number twos outdoors and wears a belly band indoors for number one. If he ever attempts to mark without it, he responds well to a simple, gentle correction. Jack is also social, playful, and incredibly gentle. He has met both dogs and cats and enjoys being playful with both, making him a fun companion for friendly, respectful pets. He takes treats softly from your hand, loves placing his tiny feet on your leg to be picked up, and is an absolute lovebug who gives and receives endless sweet puppy kisses. Jack also walks beautifully on a leash and loves being outdoors, taking in all the wonderful scents and doing his business along the way. While he would absolutely love a fenced yard, he can thrive just as happily with regular walks. Jack’s ideal home is one where he is treated as a true member of the family and isn’t left behind or confined while other pets are free to roam. He needs adopters who understand his need to feel included, are comfortable using an indoor belly band, and can provide consistent, gentle guidance if he tries to mark. He would love a family that welcomes a tiny 10-pound cuddle bug into their bed at night and doesn’t mind having a diligent little watchdog who will vocalize when he hears unusual noises. Jack can live with or without other dogs and cats, as long as they are friendly and enjoy a spunky, playful companion who is happiest when he gets to be part of the pack—and, naturally, the top dog!
