A TOTAL SWEETHEART: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 40 lbs.
Hi there, I'm Trina! I came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a new home and family. I'm glad to be here and am enjoying my time in a wonderful foster home while I wait to meet my new family. I don't recall my past, but I did need a shave down since my fur was overgrown and matted. I'm also heartworm positive, so I clearly wasn't properly cared for, but not to worry as I'll be treated for the heartworms soon and I hope to be in my new home before treatment starts.
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and enjoyed playing with them. I also like the dogs in my foster home, so if you have a dog that would like a playful friend, let's meet! / I'm curious about the kitties in my foster home and would like to play with them. Not all cats will like this and all cats are different, so I'm not sure how I would be with other kitty cats. / I haven't met kids yet at Mostly Mutts or in my foster home, so let's meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a very sweet, silly, gentle, and happy girl who has completely blossomed since going to my foster home! I arrived pretty shaken up and was initially a flight risk, but I've come out of my “shelter shell” and am a completely different dog from the girl who first arrived. I'm quiet, calm, and wonderfully chill, with a silly, fun-loving personality that will keep you smiling. I have the cutest little prance in my walk, like a princess, although I can be a bit clumsy and sometimes forget just how big I am! I have good house manners and haven't gotten on the furniture in my foster home, but I absolutely love being close to my person and will give them my whole heart. I'd be happiest with someone who is home a lot, so I can enjoy plenty of companionship. With my gentle nature and desire to please, I may even have the makings of a wonderful therapy or service dog one day. I'm a special girl who is ready to love my family! / Energy level: 4-6.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I've learned the 'come', 'leave it' and 'drop it' commands and I use proper door etiquette, accept friendly strangers without jumping on them and I walk well on my leash. Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let's continue my training together. / I communicate to my foster at first that I don't want to be in my crate but then I settle and overall do very well. / My potty manners are very good on a schedule in my foster home.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love car rides, treats, and soaking up lots of pets—especially chin scratches! I'm happiest when I can spend plenty of time with my people, ideally having someone home with me during the day. I also love running and playing in the yard and tossing my toys around. I'm so much fun to watch! / Occasionally, random objects startle me (a bag hanging on door, etc.) though not much overall. I wouldn't be happy alone for a full workday and like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. Sadly, I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, so I'm heartworm positive. The good news is that I'll be treated for that soon and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with their vet, so local adoption only. I hope to be with my new family before treatment begins!
I'm a real sweetie looking for a family that will take good care of me and treasure me furever! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.
