SVETLANA IS READY FOR HER BETTER FUTURE
Svetlana is a beautiful 1-year-old Pit Bull mix who was found as a stray. She came to us with a collection of scars that leave us wondering what her first year of life looked like. We may never know her whole story — but we do know that we're determined to make sure her future is so much better than her past. ❤️
And this girl is SO sweet.
Once Svetlana feels comfortable, her personality starts to shine. The worried look disappears, the zoomies kick in, and suddenly you're playing a full-blown game of Catch Me If You Can. She loves people, loves attention, and is starting to realize that life can actually be pretty fun.
Svetlana has done well with the dogs she's met in her foster home. However, she can become overexcited and overstimulated, so we think she would thrive in a home with a little less chaos rather than one that's constantly busy. She may enjoy a canine friend who can tolerate her enthusiasm, but she'd also benefit from a family who understands when it's time to help her settle.
The same goes for kids. Svetlana is not aggressive with children, but when excitement takes over, personal space and brakes are apparently optional. Because she can get rowdy and could easily trample a little one, we'd recommend older children if there are kids in the home.
She already knows sit, but impulse control and manners are still a work in progress. She's looking for someone with dog experience who understands the determination and stubborn streak that can come with a pittie and who is willing to continue training, set boundaries, and help her learn how to regulate all that excitement.
Svetlana isn't looking for perfection. She needs patience, consistency, structure and someone willing to give a dog with an unknown past the chance to become the best version of herself.
Her first chapter may be a mystery.
We're just looking for the family who wants to help her write the rest. ❤️
