Overview
Meet Frank, an adorable 3-year-old, 14-pound black and silver dapple longhaired Dachshund. Frank came to Little Paws due to separation anxiety and barking in his previous home. Despite this, he is an incredibly sweet boy who will do anything for a treat, follows his foster everywhere, and loves belly scratches and playing with his toys.
Environment
Frank has a medium energy level, loves walks, and is great on a leash. While he doesn't love his crate, he will go into it without issues if someone is nearby; however, if left alone in a room without company, he will cry and bark continually. Because he is quite chatty and vocal when left alone, shared walls are a major problem and he is unsuitable for apartments or townhomes.
Pets & People
Frank is very shy when first meeting new people and has not yet been around children. He was very friendly with everyone at the vet's office. He does well coexisting with resident dogs, following them around, though he can be possessive over scattered treats and should be fed separately or hand-fed one at a time. He has not been tested with cats.
Health & Special Needs
Frank experiences motion sickness and whines or vomits during car rides regardless of duration. He has a prescription for Trazodone which successfully helps him stay calm during travel. He has no other medical needs noted so far.
